The National Association of Realtors releases its July 2026 existing-home sales report today at 10 a.m. ET, with no figures yet published as of this writing. The June baseline showed a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million sales, a 2.4% monthly decline, a median price of $440,600, and 4.6 months of supply. A subsequent 5.4% drop in June pending sales and a 30-year mortgage rate of 6.69% as of August 6 provide the affordability context heading into today's release.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will release its Q2 2026 Household Debt and Credit Report on August 11 at 11 a.m. ET, covering balances and delinquency rates through June 2026 across mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, and student debt. The report follows Q1 2026 data showing total household debt at $18.8 trillion with an aggregate delinquency rate of 4.8%, up from 4.4% in Q2 2025. A companion post will examine the divergence between credit-bureau and lender measures of credit-card delinquency, a methodology question the New York Fed flagged as warranting separate analysis.
