China NBS Scheduled to Release July CPI and PPI on August 9
China's National Bureau of Statistics will publish its July Consumer Price Index and Producer Price Index on August 9, following a June report in which CPI rose 1.0% year on year and PPI rose 4.1% year on year. PPI has accelerated steadily from minus 1.4% in January to plus 4.1% in June, while CPI has held in a narrow 1.0% to 1.3% range since February. The July figures arrive alongside a manufacturing PMI that slipped to 49.2 in July and official acknowledgment from the PBOC and NDRC of insufficient effective financing demand and ongoing efforts to support a reasonable price recovery.
