US Foreclosure Starts Reached 43000 in June 2026 a Six Year High
ICE's June 2026 mortgage data shows foreclosure starts jumped 39.69% year over year to 43,000, the highest count in six years, while active foreclosure inventory rose 39.26% annually to 292,000 properties. Despite the foreclosure acceleration, the overall delinquency rate of 3.55% remained 60 basis points below the June 2019 pre-pandemic level, and serious delinquencies fell to a six-month low of 570,000. The data illustrates how aggregate delinquency figures can mask meaningful stress at the foreclosure pipeline stage.
