Netflix and AMC Global Media announced a five-year, $500 million licensing agreement on July 30, 2026, granting both platforms co-exclusive streaming rights to all seven Walking Dead series, totaling 371 episodes. The deal ends Netflix's sole U.S. hold on the flagship series, with AMC+ gaining access to it starting January 6, 2027, while Netflix adds the six spin-offs globally. AMC will recognize approximately $445 million of the $500 million in cash payments as revenue under accounting rules, with the bulk of annual payments of around $100 million running from 2027 through 2030.
