FanDuel Sports Network Shut Down in May 2026 Leaving NBC Sports RSNs as Sole Remaining Risk
Main Street Sports Group completed its wind-down of FanDuel Sports Network by early May 2026, ending carriage contracts with Comcast, DirecTV, Charter, and Altice after all 29 NBA, NHL, and MLB team rights agreements terminated between January and April 2026. The only publicly identified RSN carriage risk entering mid-July 2026 is NBC Sports Regional Networks, where The Athletic reported on June 26 that NBCUniversal is evaluating an exit from its four remaining RSNs covering California, Bay Area, Boston, and Philadelphia, though no specific contract deadline has been named. Both MLB and the NBA are building centralized streaming alternatives, with MLB targeting a bundled local-rights package after 2028 and the NBA eyeing a streaming hub as early as the 2027-28 season.
