Enbridge Signs $2.55 Billion Deal for Tallgrass Crude Oil Assets Pending FTC Approval
Enbridge has agreed to acquire Tallgrass Energy's crude oil transportation, gathering, storage, and terminaling business for US$2.55 billion in cash, adding a 75% stake in the 1,050-mile Pony Express Pipeline and 8.4 million barrels of storage capacity across nine terminals. The deal, announced September 9, remains subject to FTC clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and is expected to close later in 2026. Enbridge separately launched a C$2.6 billion equity offering to partially fund this and a concurrent Salt Creek Midstream acquisition.
