The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases August 2026 CPI data this morning, the last inflation reading before the Federal Reserve's September 15-16 rate decision. July's headline CPI stood at 3.4% annually and core at 2.5%, both above the Fed's 2% target, while forecasters expect a 0.4% monthly headline increase for August.
